Lindsey Securities - Lincoln, Nettleham Road
Date: 26 May 1999
Detailed plans for a multi-million pound, district mixed use centre at Nettleham Road, Lincoln, are to be considered by 7 Lincoln City Council planners.
The first phase of the ambitious self-sufficient mini-village scheme, which holds out the prospect of creating 150 new jobs, would bring retail, leisure and residential development to this expanding part of the city, say developers, Lindsey Securities.
They see Aldi, which wants to build a discount supermarket, as filling a perceived gap in the food retailing market. Terms have been agreed with a national restaurant chain to add further consumer choice within the proposed 4 acre landscaped site located on Nettleham Road and Lincoln Road. Five other retail shops and 15 two-bedroomed flats also form part of the proposed new development, close to the A46 Lincoln Relief Road, according to Chris Hodgson of chartered surveyors, Hodgson Elkington, who are agents for the scheme.
